Create Accounting Periods

 Purpose:

To define the time periods to which financial transactions will post in the General Ledger

 Prerequisites:

None

 Required or Optional:

Required

ONCE A FINANCIAL TRANSACTION HAS BEEN CREATED YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE ACCOUNTING PERIODS.  Please make certain the starting year and starting date are accurate before clicking on the Apply button.

Create your Accounting Periods by first selecting the year in which you will begin business in Sedona.  Secondly you will select the start of your company’s fiscal year; press the calendar icon located to the right of the Start of Fiscal Year field to select your beginning date.  Next press the Schedule button located on the lower right of this form.  The form will populate the period setup area with the current fiscal year accounting months on the left and the next fiscal year accounting months on the right.  If the dates are correct, press the Apply button.
