Client Management Master Account Management Creating a New Master Account
A new Master Account is created the same as when creating a regular customer. Once the new Customer is saved it will be converted into a Master Account. Follow the link for instructions on Creating a New Customer. Omit the step of creating a System for the Customer.
Master Accounts may also be created from Client Management/Master Account Management. Using this method requires many more processes steps and is not recommended.
Converting a Customer to a Master Account
Since Master Accounts have no Site records, when converting a regular Customer into a Master Account, the Site record that was on the customer tree for the regular Customer will automatically be converted into the first Subaccount attached to the Master Account.
To convert a regular Customer into a Master Account follow the instructions listed below.
1. Open the Customer Explorer of the Customer that will be converted into a Master Account.
2. Highlight the customer tree option Customer Information; right-click and select the Edit Customer Setup option.
3. The Setup Information form will be displayed. The data entry fields for converting to a Master Account will be described below.
Customer# – If your company assigns a special account number to Master Accounts, the User may change the customer number. This is very typical with Dealer type customers.
