Applying an Unapplied Item using the "Other" Options
Applying Unapplied Cash
Unapplied Cash may be applied to a Miscellaneous G/L Account, Advance Deposit, or a Refund Check.
Apply to a Refund Check
1. The Apply Date will default to today's date; the User may override this to any date that is in an open accounting period, but not prior to the date the Unapplied Cash Item was created.
2. From the Other tab of the Apply Customer Credit form, select the checkbox to the left of the Refund Check option.
3. The Amount field will automatically fill in with the entire amount of unapplied cash available. The User may change this to a lower amount if desired.
4. The Pay To field will automatically fill in with the Customer Name. If the check is to be written to someone other than the default, the User may manually make the change.
5. The Memo field may be used to type in a brief note that will print in the memo field of the check to the customer.
6. When finished, press the Save button located at the lower right of the form to complete the transaction.
A check will automatically be sent to the Accounts Payable Check Printing Queue for printing.
